Thailand's beloved suki chain, MK Restaurants, has found itself caught in a storm of both enthusiasm and criticism as it grapples with an unexpectedly high turnout for its latest buffet promotion. The recently launched MK-Koom-Koom Eat All You Can offer, which began on Monday and is slated to continue until 30 June, invites diners to indulge in a 90-minute, all-you-can-eat feast for just 299 baht. The promotion showcases an array of premium dishes, such as Australian brisket, sliced pork, tender pork, and seasoned seaweed. For groups of four or more, the deal sweetens with unlimited freshwater prawns at no extra cost, a tempting allure for many patrons.

 

This seemingly irresistible offer has drawn large crowds to MK's locations across Thailand, resulting in scenes reminiscent of a festive food carnival. However, the immense popularity of the promotion quickly revealed cracks in MK's operational readiness, with branches struggling under the weight of higher-than-anticipated customer flow. Many diners found themselves facing prolonged wait times, with reports of certain menu items becoming unavailable at peak hours. Furthermore, the unexpected surge has left several branches understaffed, contributing to the mounting frustration among customers.

 

In light of the widespread dissatisfaction, MK Restaurants took to Facebook on Tuesday to acknowledge the issues and express their regret. In their official statement, the company extended a heartfelt apology to affected patrons, recognising the subpar service experienced by many during the promotion's early days. "We sincerely apologise to all customers who encountered delays or incomplete service," the message conveyed. "We are fully aware of the issues encountered at some branches and are working urgently to resolve them."

 

The restaurant chain has outlined a series of measures aimed at addressing these operational hiccups. Key amongst these is the deployment of additional staff to bolster service efficiency and expedite the replenishment of food supplies to ensure that the bountiful buffet remains as promised. MK has also advised prospective diners to reach out to their local branches to confirm service availability ahead of their visit, aiming to manage expectations and prevent further disappointments.

 

This episode illustrates a classic business challenge: balancing an enticing promotional offer with the capacity to deliver on its promise. While MK Restaurants works diligently to iron out these teething problems, the situation underscores the importance of robust logistical planning in the face of high consumer demand. Customers, meanwhile, are encouraged to stay informed and patient as the chain navigates this temporary turbulence.

 

The promotion, despite its rocky start, remains available until the end of June, providing ample opportunity for keen food enthusiasts to partake in what is hoped to be a seamless and satisfying dining experience in the days to come. My daughter is addicted to that place, she has to have the duck and green noodles, or she won't survive. However, she has found a new favorite of Seabass and Truffle Pasta at a new hangout of ours.

The duck is hands down the best but always gives me the runs as it's always served at room temp.

I didn't see it included in the article though. Its the only thing mk has going for it imo

I stick with the Dim Sum menu, wife goes with the boiled routine in this article, so we all order differently 😉

I don't think we have ever eaten out for much less than 1000 baht, usually somewhere between 1200-1800 for the 3 of us. Still a whole lot cheaper than my last trip home to the USA.....LOL
