I had a similar experience . I was in the UK and wife bought a new car in Thailand with 60% tint . When I came back to Thailand the first time I drove the car was at night and I thought that the lights were faulty so I took the car back to the dealer and complained about the lights but they were not faulty , it was the xxxxxxx stupid tint . A car sales lady had persuaded my wife to have the darker tint as it made the car cooler , WTFK . I had it removed cos it was asking for an accident because of much reduced vision. The UK law say 75% light through the windscreen and 70% light on the front side windows . However most new cars already have a 30% tinted glass windscreen and adding a tint would make your UK insurance void and that has happened a few times in the UK . Is there a correlation with tinted windows and the high amount of road accidents in Thailand ?

Back in the 70s I had many different cars and Christened them all including a Triumph Tr4a ( very keen girlfriend who I think was an ex jockey ) . No need for tinted windows cos they always steamed up . On 2 separate occasions I had a policeman knock the window . Now that was a real passion killer .

It's my belief that the kitchen will be in a similar state of the toilets . So spotless toilets , for me that means a clean , hygienic kitchen . I have seen and used some filthy Thai bars & restaurants toilets and would not order a meal . I don't know if Thai restaurants are subject to unannounced government hygiene inspections as most of the Western world has but I doubt it .

I guess I have learnt my lesson and that is to be aware of these Thai bank holidays that can and do delay transfers . Normally Wise are fast at transfers with the odd exception .

Chicken carries salmonella & campylobacter plus other bacteria and washing raw chicken will not remove them . In fact washing raw chicken is bad practice as the droplets can easily spread bacteria to other areas . The bacteria are killed by cooking the chicken to 325f oven temperature and the chicken to have a minimum internal temperature of 165f shown on a probe thermometer . I suspect that failing to cook the chicken to these levels , could be the cause of the food poisoning .

OK , I get the bank holidays causing delays but I tried to send money early morning on Saturday May 31 and Wise said your money will arrive on Wednesday 4th June . I have sent money on a Saturday before but normally on a Friday . But even on a Saturday my money had taken seconds only to arrive on previous occasions, I think . I was short of cash and had no alternative other than use the ATM with my UK debit card and incur all the bank charges . I use Bangkok Bank purely as a convenience to hold my transferred money that enables me to withdraw from their ATM but to avoid this dilemma again I will keep a reasonable amount of money in my Bangkok savings account .

My main concern is that , even if Starmer is pushed or jumps , his replacement will stick to the Labour government policies which are killing the UK . A general election is the only answer and that could happen if there was enough unrest in the working population and a threat of a national strike . 2025 could well be the year of discontent with many government workers about to claim a wage rise because their pay has mostly remained stagnant for a few years . More benefit cuts to be announced next month by the robbing Rachel Reeves . No wonder the UK is losing many skilled and professional workers by way of emigration and being replaced by mostly unskilled immigrants .

Starmer , the most unpopular UK PM ever . His days are numbered . why is he planning to review the WFP & 2 child only benefits ? because his own back benchers are about to oppose and vote against the changes . So rather than face a defeat/revolt he will do a "U" turn " . Problem is who will replace him , Angela Rayner ? OMG . Frying pan to the fire . Then comes Rachel Reeves the pensioner killer . Chancellor of the Exchequer without appropriate qualifications . There needs to be a change of government asap . A new government that puts indigenous Brits first . Halts the invasion of illegal channel boats and deport the illegals already in the UK . Starmer will build 1.5 million new homes to house them . Starmer and his cronies should be tried for treason . Great Britain should just be called Britain . Free speech , careful , as you run the risk of prison . Tommy Robinson released but I reckon he will be back inside within a month or 2 for minor offences .

The O.N.S. have not yet released winter 2024 figures on deaths caused by the cold . However some estimate state that between 1900 and 4900 additional O.A.P.s had died because of not being able to heat their homes . Starmer and his Muppet cabinet estimated that stopping the W.F.P. would increase pensioner deaths by 4000 . This despicable Labour government do not care about their elderly . They do care about illegal immigrants and that will be Starmers downfall . Many pensioners depend on the state pension because they were not able to secure a private pension . Todays pension works out at 5 pounds 76 pence per hour which is less than half the rate of the minimum wage of 12 pounds 21 pence per hour . Also the UK state pension is the lowest of the modern European industrial countries . Even if Starmer does a "U" turn on the WFP , the voters will not forget this morons lack of care for pensioners . Yet the Labour party continue to keep support from stubborn traditional Labour voters . Now messing with the Brexit deal which will see masses of foreign workers in the UK to build the 1.5 million new homes , most of which will be for immigrants . This government need kicking out asap . BTW , coming soon , many welfare and benefits to be cut .

The demise of girly bars throughout Thailand has been caused by the incessant need by the bar girls to use their mobile phones . Never had that years ago . Only seem really interested in capturing customers to drink in their bar and to get bought a lady drink at high prices . Also far to many lady boys .

I transferred 240 pounds last Friday early am and Wise said will take 8 hours to complete but it did not come in that time . The next day on Saturday am I still did not have it , so I used their tracker and guess what ? it arrived within 5 minutes . I have been using Wise for 10 years or more and always praised their service but over the last couple of months they have slowed down and not so reliable . I am considering using another company . Any recommendations? Anyone use XE.com ?

Not only the Phuket flight was effected but the aircraft is assigned for follow on flights once reaching Don Mueang airport , so many other passengers were delayed or their flights were cancelled with all involved incurring extra expenses . The crazy bomb joker should be sued to pay all the financial losses rather than the insurance company

Does anyone know if Pattaya has a sewage treatment works or does it go to the sea ?
